My husband and I both have iphones. I sync my phone at work and he syncs his on our imac at home. We both have purchased apps that we would like to share. Can my apps be copied to the itunes at home and then be loaded on my husband's iphone? I think it is crazy that we have to pay so much for some of these business apps if we can't share them.
You can if you buy them with the same account. You have chosen to have separate accounts and therefore cannot share them. If you had bought them with a single account, and shared iTunes and shared libraries on a single computer you could have shared everything as you can sync as many iPhones to a single computer as you like (its in the T&C's which you signed up to when you created the account)
You cannot have Apps from two different iTunes accounts on a single iPhone.
Apps are DRM protected & tied to the account that was used to purchase them. You can share apps among family members under the EUSLA. Launch itunes on his computer, disable auto sync when an ipod/iphone is connected, under preferences, then connect your phone. Sign in to itunes using YOUR ACCOUNT. DO NOT SYNC! Then go up to Store>Authorize this Computer. Then, go up to File>Transfer Purchases(This will put all itunes purchased content from your phone into his itunes library). Sign out of your account, sign in to his, connect his phone & select the content you want on his phone & sync. All updates to apps purchased under your account will have to be done under your account, e.g-you launch itunes under his computer, sign in using your account, update the apps, sign out, sign him back in & then update the apps on his phone.

Because, as I stated, the EUSLA permits this among family members(up to 5 actually). If the EUSLA did not permit this you couldn't, as the apps or music wouldn't work or play. E.G- my wife & I have separate computers & itunes accounts. ALL of the paid apps on her phone were bought through my account on my computer. Apple made this easier to do when they added "Home Sharing" to the last itunes update.

Thanks so much for the instruction, I would have NEVER figured that out on my own. Honestly I have always been a pc user and have just started to learn about apple products through my husband. I figured there had to be a way to share them, I just didn't know what they were. We have a few that are ten dollars or more that we use for work and I just couldn't see paying double each time we purchased them! We just bought our daughter an ipod touch because she is always taking my phone to play games, now I can transfer all of the games on my phone to her ipod!! Thanks again.

Thanks - I haven't any way of testing it but quickly scanning that article, I cannot see anywhere which says about content purchased by two different accounts being share-able. It allows content to be moved into a central library which itself becomes share-able between multiple devices (like an iTunes library on one machine being useable by another) but as there is no mention of the second machine I assumed that it had to be logged in with the same account.
I read it as sharing content between media purchased under the same account and if as was suggested earlier, Apps are DRM protected to a given account, I cannot see anywhere there which authorises Account A Apps to be used under Account B.
Maybe it works in practice, I don't know, in which case the article needs to be rewritten to make this clear, or the statement that an App is tied to an Account is false.
To take up wjostens point in the next post he/she says that both his and his wifes iPhone share the same Apps as they were bought with the same account. This I understand but thats NOT what the OP was asking.
The OP's have Apps bought with different accounts altogether and if they are tied to Accounts as Lawrence Finch suggests I cannot see how Person A can use Person B's purchased material when the DRM allegedly should prevent this ?
Surely if this were the case then anyone could use any App using Home Sharing by just importing Apps from a hard disc ?
One last question-I am assuming that in order for me to have apps that he has purchased I would have to bring his phone to my office and do the same thing on my computer? I know this sounds stupid because I understand the process, I just wanted to check and make sure there was no other way around this. We would have to make a special trip to have both phones at my office at the same time.
Yes, you would have to do the same thing on your computer to share his apps with your iphone. However, I need to point out the the EUSLA that permits sharing is meant for home use among family members. Technically, the computer at your work would not be considered home use under the EUSLA.

Yes, as long as the computers in question are in the same household. Before you start syncing your phone with a new computer, post back for directions on how to do so & not lose any data or settings. The iphone by design, will sync itunes content with ONE computer at a time. Any attempt to sync such content with a second computer will result in ALL itunes content being first erased from your phone & then replaced from the content from the second computer. This is a design feature and cannot be defeated. When you buy your new computer, we'll be glad to direct you.
