IPOD TOUCH 3 generation Song/MP3 time bar absent when playing

Just double tap on a blank space in the window. The bar will re-appear.

From the Now Playing screen, tap the album cover.

The repeat, Genius, and shuffle controls appear along with the scrubber bar. You can see elapsed time, remaining time, and the song number. The song’s lyrics also appear, if you’ve added them to the song in iTunes.

The scrubber bar lets you skip to any point along the timeline. You can adjust the scrub rate from high-speed to fine by sliding your finger down as you drag the playhead along the scrubber bar.

Have you tried setting those particular mp3s to *Remember playback position* which would do what you want for you.

To set this, for an individual mp3, highlight it in iTunes (of course) and click on *File/Get Info* and then head to the Options tab. On here, put a tick in the box to *Remember playback position* and then Sync your iPod to iTunes.

You can also do this in bulk. Highlight all the songs/mp3s that tyou want to change and click on *File/Get Info.* This time, answer Yes to the "edit multiple items" question and when the screen appears go to the Options tab again. Now, use the drop-down menu for *Remember position* and change this to Yes. The Sync your iPod to iTunes.
