Ipod video "Skipping" on certain tracks

Can anybody help with this ?

When playing back a couple of tracks on my ipod video have been "jumping" and "skipping".

Could this be a serious problem ? I am worried the hard drive is damaged. Do you get damaged sectors on a ipod hard drive like on a comptuer hard drive ?

If anyone has any advice at all I would be really grateful,

Did you try the 'Five R's':
Reset, Retry, Restart, Reinstall , Restore

Reset your iPod.
Retry with a different USB port.
Restart your computer and make sure you have the latest software updates installed.
Remove iTunes software and then reinstall iPod and iTunes software from latest versions on the web.
Restore your iPod. See “Updating and Restoring iPod Software” in the user's guide.

just to make sure, have you listened to the tracks in iTunes? I had the same problem and then realized that it was the actual files, not the iPod.
