What is process cvmsComp_ ?

What is process cvmsComp_ ?

This process starts up sometimes (I'd say 2-3 times a week) and runs for 10 minutes or so. When it's running, the HD is spinning like crazy (lots of Readings and some Writing).

One is cvmsComp_i386
another is cvmsComp x8664

Are these processes useful for something... ?

MacBook 6,1, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

They are apparently part of OpenGL.

No. Open GL is in use by the Mac OS X, not necessarily for graphics software.

And um... is it this that's using so much my HD? It doesn't make sense.
