Xactimate issues

Same problems here running Snow Leopard 10.6.4 and Windows XP under Parallels 5. I can run Xactimate 25 but cannot load a price list and the get a crash notification when I try to select the "Sketch" tab. Then when I go to "Estimate Items" tab there is no price list available but the "training" list. Under the Price List tab it does show the available price lists but I can't select any other price list in an individual project.

Would be really helpful if there were more detail on what has to be uninstalled &/or reinstalled in XP re the SQL etc. For now I guess I'm stuck using the Toshiba Windoze box... unless someone has managed to get XM8 running as it should?

Guess it depends on whether you're running Bootcamp or Parallels. I haven't tried Win XP but I've tried both Vista and 7 on both Bootcamp and Parallels. It works fine on both. Performance-wise it definitely runs better on Bootcamp but I don't think that's specific to Xactimate. Most applications seem to run slower on Parallels and I think it's mainly because it can't access all the memory like it can through Bootcamp. I run Win7 through Parallels on my laptop though and use Xactimate extensively in this setup. If you're other option is buying a separate computer just for Xactimate I wouldn't waste the money on the extra computer - Xactimate on Parallels should work fine for you.

I am having issues with Xactimate freezing up in Parallels. Has any of you experienced this with Vista or Windows 7? I am running 10.6 with XP. I have allocated the max memory for Virtual Machine.

I have not upgraded my software to any version newer then 10.6 cause I did when I first got the computer and it messed up my windows xp side which in return i had to restore everything.

If any of you or anyone running Xactimate without it freezing, I would love to hear how you have yours setup

I run Snow Leopard - 10.6.3 - and run Windows 7 through Parallels. I haven't had any problems with Xactimate. Before Windows 7 I was running Windows Vista and no problems with that either. I've also run Leopard - 10.5 - with Windows Vista without issue. I'm not sure what version of Xactimate you're running. I've been running Xactimate 27 for a long time. I haven't tried Xactimate 25 on this setup so I'm not sure how it would do.

In speaking with an Xactware tech; he stated that 27 is not fully compatible with Windows-XP. 27 will run within Vista but it was developed for Windows-7.
