Converting doc files to Pages '09

Please, how do I convert doc and docx documents - with both text and photos - to Pages '09?

2009 imac, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

Ctrl +click on the document. Choose Pages in the menu. Normally Pages will open the document.

If you want the doc and docx to always open in Pages select one of them > Get info by pressing Cmd + I > Click on button Open with > choose Pages > click on button Change All

How do I delete auto page numbers in Pages?

I have over 100 pages in document. When I reached 100 I can only see the first two digits from left.

Select one page number and delete it. You are talking about the page numbering you have inserted in your document and not the one from the word document?
