ants in laptop

This a weird event but after Googling the topic I discover not so unique. Recently I had ants (the real insect kind) crawling out of the keyboard, speaker grills, data ports etc. I was perplexed and I do not eat over my keyboard. Also there were no ants on the table or surrounding area where it was sitting. Spraying insecticide into the computer seemed a bad idea. My solution for anyone who has this problem, and according to internet forums others have, was to spray the ant killer into a plastic garbage bag then place the laptop into it and seal the bag to let the fumes do their job on the invaders. It seems to have worked. Before anyone thinks this is a joke, Google "ants in computer" and read all the explanations for the phenomenon.

While this solution is certainly preferable to spraying anything into your computer... with your description of ants coming out of your keyboard, speaker grills, data ports, etc... it sounds as if you had quite a few of them in there. In a situation like that, it may be best to place some type of trap outside your computer to lure the critters out. Now you've got an unknown number of dead ants in your machine.
