iLife 08 missing serial number

I recently purchased the Mac OSX boxed set (Snow Leopard) and obviously got iLife 09 with it. I therefore removed iLife 08 from my Mac to put '09 on and have since sold my old iLife 08 (single user) disc on eBay but the buyer is asking me for the licence key.

I don't remember it ever asking for one when I originally installed it a year or so ago, and I've found several forum posts about the family pack not having a licence key. Is this true for the single user pack as well?

I need to know so I can answer the buyers question.
