Full screen with extended desktop

Hello,

I'm hoping this topic will be resolved with a simple setting or not at all...

I have setup an external monitor for an extended desktop (using Tritton USB2DVI adaptor, but also tried with builtin DVI output) and I have a few issues with utilising full screen in some applications with expose in enabled.

1) Aperture: When I move this App to the extended screen, the full screen appears on MBP primary?
2) VLC: Full screen appears on extended screen, so this is ok, but raises point 3
3) General: Why am I unable to have full screen independently on my different screens, in Windows XP it works fine.

Any thoughts.
