May I change the hour that a podcast is checked for and downloaded?

I want to check and download at 2:00 AM. The only time I see is 5:00 PM.

5:00 pm will eat into bandwidth and network resources but 2:00 AM will not. I would like to change this but how?

itunes 7.6

I don't think you can. You can write an AppleScript that updates podcasts:

    tell application "iTunes"
    end tell

You can then have your computer run that at 5am.

Er, I mean you can run it at 2am, or whatever time you want.

FYI, the two common techniques for scheduling a recurring AppleScript workflow are (a) scheduling cron job that invokes osascript, or (b) invoking the AppleScript via a recurring event on your iCal calendar. If you are interested in pursuing either, and if you're not comfortable with how it's done, just let me know. It's incredibly easy, just not intuitive.
