adding artwork to itunes from ripped CD without itunes account

When I rip a cd into itunes I get no album artwork with it. It seems the only automatic way to do it is to give a credit card to Apple that I am opposed to. Is this the only way?
I have over a 1000 other cds that I have ripped into WMP and I am not about to do the drag and drop method as I need to maintain a full time job to keep paying for my music and I am not about to repurchase everything.

If so this seems somewhat of a choke hold position apple has put itself in with respect to clients. Needless to say I will leave music on WMP where this stuff is open and free

Do a search in Amazon for the album and copy the art work to the Desktop. Then add it to your tunes via the iTunes interface.

If you have the exact same name on the ripped tunes as the original CD then you can tell iTunes to get the 'missing' art work. iTunes will add the art work as long as the name is exactly the same as the original album. This is done from the iTunes 'Advanced' menu.
