Why can't I see a movie tab in the iTunes store, or search for movies?

I'm in the iTunes store tying to search for a movie which I would like to rent/buy.. But I cannot see the movies tab, or the tv show tab that allows me the filter my search. No movies/tv shows are being returned in my search results.

iTunes version 9.03 and Snow Leopard OS.

Anyone know what's going on?

Are you in a country in which movies are available?

Have you been able to see movies before?

OH that is so unfair. I am living in Ireland and the service is not available, here..

"Fair" rarely applies when dealing with the movie industry. 😉

In "fairness", though, rights among the many different countries can be a very complex matter, involving issues of copyright, distribution rights, performer contracts, etc. so even if a movie studio wants to allow download sales (something which to date they're reluctant to allow) it may take a lot of negotiation. In any case, it's all up to the content owners. With any luck they'll open up movie sales in your country soon, but we have no way to know.

I think price and competition laws are another big factor here in the EU.
