Gift Certificate Template

I am trying to use a Gartner Stufios Gift Certficate Template

http://www.gartnerstudios.com/content/promotional-kit-black

I am trying to use the HORIZONTAL version.

Of course it is a word doc but it opens in pages and when I got to print it says "The specified custom paper size is not supported in the selected tray."

I don't know how to make this work. The option to flip horizontally is grayed out in Pages.

I am using a HP Photosmart c4100 Series.

As you will see, the page size is 3.38 x 9 so the paper will have to go in the printer length wise.

It shouldn't distort anything if you use a larger size, one you can use in the printer. Maybe add a rectangle or lines as cutting lines.

Can you tell the printer which tray to use?
If you need to turn the contents 90 degree to fit a paper better but retain the design you can Select all objects and group them. Then Cmd + drag a corner to turn the grouped selection.

Yes, it make sense. Group the objects and turn it as I described. Forgot to say you need to change the direction of the "paper" in Page setup. Either create your own custom paper or use the vertical template that is downloadable from the site you got the horizontal template.

I downloaded the template and printed it just so to a letter size sheet without making any adjustments. It printed perfectly. Of course if you want it the original size, you will have to trim the paper. You could copy and paste several to one letter size page.

If your printer has several paper trays, choose the one you would normally print a letter on. No need to do any rotating.

Wait. I missed a few things back there. If I now understand the situation, and there’s no guarantee that I do, you want to print the “Gift Certificate” download on a pre-printed certificate form. Is that correct? if so, select all and Copy. Open a new blank Pages letter size document in landscape and paste the copy into a Text Box. You can then position this box as needed to register on the certificate.

Am I getting close?

I went back to the site and looked again. If you have bought that kit, and the sheets are 9 x 3.38, you may have to treat your set up as you would an envelope. I suggest you cut some blank paper to that size for testing and then in File > Print Setup, choose a #10 envelope, create a text box, and copy/paste the text into it. Put your test papers in your printer where you would an envelope and make a test print. Adjust the placement of the text box as necessary.

I’m doing a lot of guesswork here because I don’t have a really clear picture of what you have in hand.
