New mail messages don't show in Inbox

I've recently switched from PC to Mac, and am having trouble with Mail.

Mail Activity says 'Incoming Message', and I get the tone, but the message doesn't show up in my Inbox. It states message number 101, but I only have 19 showing in my Inbox!

I'm worried that i'm not receiving important emails.

I too am having a similar problem...

I just switched to 10.6.2 two nights ago...

On 10.5.x my mail worked perfectly, I have 6 different accounts that I get mail from, and 5 of the 6 work fine, but one of them shows that there is mail incoming, but it never downloads (the dialog shows 10 of 10 waiting to download). I tried deleting that account and re-adding it, but it still does the same thing.

Also when I was adding the account, mail app would crash, until I used the "option key trick".

Frustrated!

Heres's something for you to think about.

I added the same mail box with all of the same details as an IMAP account. The mail.ap allowed me to add the account but just named it "xxxxxx 2".

All of the new email that was missing showed up in the IMAP account.

It has worked on 4 machines so far (only another 16 to do). 3 were POP and they worked fine with the abovestated method.

The other 1 was already IMAP and all I did was press the plus to add another account and all of the mail appeared in the IMAP account as though the threat was enough.

Give it a try - it might work for you too.

Cheers
