Is there a way (or an app) that allows someone to send anonymous text from an iphone?

Well, actually there is an app. However, it only works in the US & Canada currently. The developers hope to add global coverage shortly.

Interesting - they would never get approval to use it in the EU. I give it three months before the App is pulled due to it being abused and the sponsors not getting enough cash. Its just an anonymous relay so quite easy for carriers to block.

But thats just my opinion.

Wrong! Here's just a few of the many UK based anonymous (or fake Caller ID) SMS sending services:

If you have your own (commercial-type) SMS server, you can do what you want.

i suspect they are using it without approval as they would not be compliant with several Ofcom and EU regulations regarding the mandatory collection of communications data. Long may they continue ....;)
