Removing plug-ins from AU manager

Hi, I did a search but couldn't see the question covered.

If I delete expired plug-ins from /Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components and delete the AU Cache file, when I load up Logic 9 and let it scan all my plug-ins in again the deleted ones are still listed as 'Couldn't be Opened'.

I know it doesn't affect the functionality of the software but I like to keep things neat I as I install trial software from time to time to see if they're worth the investment. Is there a DB file or test that needs to be edited to completely clear out items that are no longer installed?

Thanks in advance.

If you have deleted the component files, then they will not show up in the AU Manager.

If they are still showing up, sounds like they haven't been deleted. Don't forget there are two AU plugin folders:

/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components and
~/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components

Check both of those and make sure the component files you don't want are deleted.
