I love my new Airport, but my MacBook always defaults to the old linksys setting, which of course is in the trash now...

I can see my new network (and my neighbors networks too), but I can't figure out how to remove the non-existent network.

Suggestions please... thanx

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

This may not be exactly what you mean, but try this: Open the Network panel of System Preferences, select the AirPort connection item, then click the "Advanced" button. If you see your old network in the list of "Preferred Networks", select it and click on the "minus" button.

Bingo! It is always something simple...

    thanx,

PS - I have totally converted to MAC's and I bought my wife a big IMAC too. Clearly a superior platform than any PC and Windows. Different of course, and a challenge since we most all live in a Windows world professionally, but the best technology move I've ever made!
