Deleting old wireless router

I love my new Airport, but my MacBook always defaults to the old linksys setting, which of course is in the trash now...

I can see my new network (and my neighbors networks too), but I can't figure out how to remove the non-existent network.

Suggestions please... thanx

This may not be exactly what you mean, but try this: Open the Network panel of System Preferences, select the AirPort connection item, then click the "Advanced" button. If you see your old network in the list of "Preferred Networks", select it and click on the "minus" button.
