Numbers for iPad export to Excel

Does anybody know if the Numbers App for the iPad will export to a MS Excel format (xls or xlsx)? Need to be able to collaborate on Excel and MS Word documents with PC users so PDF is not adequate.

Still doesn't answer my question. The link you provided says you can import excel and iWorks but does not say it can be exported as Excel only as Numbers or PDF. This doesn't help when some folks are still running MS Office 2003 on XP.

Apple iPad web site says:
"Works well with others: Numbers on iPad lets you open spreadsheets created using iWork or Microsoft Office. So if someone emails you a Numbers or Excel file, you can easily import it into Numbers for iPad. To share your work, export your spreadsheet as a Numbers file for Mac or PDF document, then email it to anyone. You can also upload it to iWork.com public beta so anyone on a Mac or PC can view your spreadsheet."

Nobody can possibly tell you anything more than what is there for you to read for yourself on Apple's web site, so if you need more you will probably just have to wait until someone can test it for you.

The icons to the left at the bottom of the individual apps pages would seem to indicate export formats, since they cannot import pdf.

I know as a fact that the desktop version will export to excel files. Excel does not know how to handle numbers interpretation of multiple floating tables on each worksheet, so it takes each table and creates a new worksheet for it. You also get the option of creating an index worksheet with links to the individual tables/worksheets.

Does anyone know of any Windows-based program that can convert a Numbers to an Excel file or can convert a Numbers file into any format that can be imported into or opened in Excel?

I, too was hoping to open iPad Numbers documents on Excel for Windows. I would be willing to buy a utility to do the converting. Hopefully, Apple will recognize the need to include this export function in future updates of the iPad Numbers and Keynote apps.

UNFORTUNATELY, and a HUGE oversite by Apple, it is impossible to export your Numbers file as an Excel file.. Thus, making it impossible to work on or create a numbers file, export it to your PC to work on in Excel, and import it back. You CAN IMPORT excel files, but that's it...
IWork sharing online beta doesn't help one bit either, near as I can tell.

Does anyone know if APPLE plans to adjust this issue in NUMBERS for my ipad? I have to have paid for this app, and now I can't really use it how I need to..
