Samsung Wireless Dongle WIS09ABGN & Airport Extreme N not connecting
I just replaced my Net gear router because it was stopping my movies when I streamed from Netflix on my mac. It would however work streaming to my Samsung Blue ray player. So, I went and bought an Airport Extreme to fix this problem. It did fix that problem, however now the blue ray player will not connect to my wireless network. I will try to connect and it will take about 3 min. to tell me that it cannot connect.
1. my network is WPA
2. The SSID is all lowercases/ no spaces/no caps/no numbers/no punctuation.
The dongle has worked before, so I know that end is ok. The problem has to lie with the dongle and the Airport connecting to each other.
WHY CAN THEY NOT CONNECT ??
Please Help
iMac Intel Core Duo,
Mac OS X (10.6.2),
2 Gig ram/ 500gig/ Vram256 /20" screen
I figured it out!!! WPA personal 2 is the security that AE uses. I was wrongly choosing WEP in the samsung setup. Also, found out the SSID has to be 8 characters or less, cant contain anything but letters and no spaces. The password has to lower cases no spaces.
I had similar situation, my Samsung TV would connect but not my Samsung Blu-ray player. Both Samsung devices use same usb wireless dongle. I got a software update for the blue-ray from Samsung, (loaded from memory stick) then it connected just fine.
