Upgrading from iLife '08 to iLife '09

Upgrading from iLife '08 to iLife '09

This is more a general iLife question than an iPhoto question. I currently have iLife '08 installed in my Macbook and would like to upgrade to iLife '09 in the near future. Do I have to uninstall iLife '08 before installing iLife '09? I want my data to seamlessly transfer between the two versions. Is that possible? (Yes, I know little to nothing about computers.)

Welcome to the Apple Discussions.

First: before any upgrading process make sure you have a +back up+. Most likely you will have no problems. Most people don't. But better safe than sorry.

No there is no need to uninstall iLife 08 before installing 09. It will simply install over them.

I want my data to seamlessly transfer between the two versions. Is that possible?

Simply run the installer and that's all you need to do.

But remember: back up first.
