Is my warranty still valid?

By papers i would still have a warranty for my ipod, but in service they say that there is no warranty for it because the serial number on back of it is not readable anymore. They are saying that it's written in rules. I read that small book what they are giving when you buy it and couldn't find a point where it is written. Could anyone help me with this? Because in my country they are going to do everything possible that they wouldn,t need to do sth. (i am sorry about grammar. i am not so good in english)

Sorry, but Apple's warranty statement does indeed say that the warranty will be void if the serial number has been removed or defaced. Here is the relevant statement in English (I have removed some text that does not apply to your question):

"This warranty does not apply: ... (h ) if any Apple serial number has been removed or defaced."

You can read the full warranty statement in various languages here:

If the serial number on your iPod is indeed illegible, I am afraid that the warranty on your iPod is probably no longer in effect.

i already checked that and there it's shown that i should still have warranty.
I think i have asked incorrectly, main thing i wanted to know is there a rule in ipod touch warranty that serial number have to be readable on the back of it? Because it would be kind a stupid to write a number in place where it can go off by just putting in pocket and abort warranty because of that. ( I hope someone will be able to understand what i meant with that, because i don't know how to say it diffrent)

If Apple has refused your warranty, then sorry but there's probably nothing you can do. You can look at Apple's phone contacts list:

http://www.apple.com/support/contact/phone_contacts.html

and if Apple has direct representation in your country and you have a receipt for the purchase of the iPod showing the serial number, you can try calling Apple, asking to speak to a customer service representative, and explaining the situation. It's possible that they could do something about your situation. If they cannot, or if Apple has no direct representation in your country and works only through local distributors and that distributor has refused to honor the warranty, then there will indeed be nothing you can do.

Good luck.
