Welcome to the discussions,
can you see the speaker icon and the changing of the volume bar if you press your volume buttons?
Try this with the headphones plugged in and then unplug them and see if the volume for the speaker is displayed.
Is your volume limit set to max?
Set a volume limit for music and videos: Choose Music > Volume Limit and drag the slider to adjust the maximum volume

I'm having the same problem!! I also purchased mine in December. It works perfectly fine with the headphones in but nothing at all through the main speaker. I also do not have any "touch clicks/vibrations" when doing things like unlocking the device typing on the keyboard. All software is updated and I have restored multiple times through itunes and through the device. I'm not sure what do...any help would be great.
