iMac wakes up from sleep automatically

System: brand new (1 week old) 27'' i5 iMac

Problem: When I put this iMac into sleep, it wakes up automatically. Sometimes right away, sometimes few minutes later... I just did a clean install of snow leopard and updated everything via Software Update, but same problem. So, I'm guessing it might be a hardware issue?

Checked the console and it said:

"The USB device Bluetooth USB Host Controller (Port 1 of Hub at 0xfa110000), just caused a wake because it signaled remote wakeup"

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

27 i5 iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

If you have a hub attached, that could be the cause. Hubs are notorious for that issue. My Power Mac G5 done the same thing. Sometimes after putting it to sleep about three times, it would stay sleeping.

I had the same problem and determined it was my bluetooth mouse/keyboard that was waking my iMac up at weird intervals. I temporarily disabled the bluetooth devices to wake my computer and used my USB mouse instead to wake it up.

Today I was able to get it functioning correctly again. I changed the service order in the Network preferences.

Go into System Prefs > Network. Next to the +/- icons on the left column there is a gear icon, click on it to select "Set Service Order..." I set "Bluetooth DUN" to last in the list, when it was first.
