iPhone 3G can't detect ANY wifi networks

I've had my iPhone for about 4 months and the WiFi has been completely dead for 3 months. By completely dead I mean, no networks are detected, regardless of my proximity to the router or the location of the network.
When I click WiFi all I get is the little progress wheel.
I've tried every fix offered by apple and other users except for jailbreaking the phone, which I simply dislike.
Not having WiFi is a huge set-back for the phone since you can't download many of the apps in the app store without it and 3G decreases battery life a lot more.
Is there any fix that came out ....within the last 2 days?....
If not, is there any way I can get a replacement? (I'm not sure if I still have my warranty available)
I just don't feel it's fair to pay for a phone and then only get half of what you paid for.
Thanks for any help.

Not a chance I would wait 3 months to get this resolved.

If no change after every troubleshooting step offered by Apple including restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup, very more than likely your iPhone has a hardware problem.

The iPhone includes a one year warranty. If you are in the U.S., you can call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby.

You are not alone. This is a problem with OS 3.1.2 on 3G and 3GS.

Try this:

Go to Settings>General>Reset
Click "Reset Network Settings" and confirm.
Your iPhone should restart. If that doesn't work, try disabling Airport Mode and do the steps again.

I can get WiFi back but it will go out again. This for me usually is when my iPhone dies or I have to shut it off, but it doesn't happen every time. Upgrading to 3.1.3 doesn't help either as far as I've seen.

Isn't that what you get with anything when the warranty runs out ? Did you take out Applecare and that has expired as well ? All I am trying to judge is whether your Phone is 1+ years old or 2+ years old.

The warranty expires at some point and after that you would be on your own if it were a washing machine.
