iCal Server Error "An unexpected network error (code 60)"
When trying to create a new iCal calendar on our leopard server I get an exclamation mark next to the server in the left sidebar next to the name of the server. When I click on it I get "an unexpected network error (code 60)"
Upon launching ical to an account that has been working for 12 months, ical responds: The server did not recognize your user name or password for account.
It will not let me look at Preferences and immediately crashes due to an unexpected error, so I cannot change anything. I have sent file to Apple, but no response.
I just completed the most recent security update 2010-004 and now face the same issue. This is certainly not solved! I am getting Network Error (Code 60) from iCal. Anyone have any fixes? The server appears to working correctly.
Same here, about a week now. Might have started when I got added to the the mobileme calendar beta. I'm bgetting the ical "server did not recognize your user name" error.
After a lot of trial and error... this might help:
1. Open iCal on your client computer > Preferences
2. Go to the Accounts tab
3. Go to Server Settings tab
4. Make sure there is a port number entered. It should match the port number being used by the iCal server. Originally, this setting was on "Auto" and it worked fine. The "Auto" option no longer works. Also, be sure to check "Use SSL" if you are doing so. (In my setup, I have it on port 8443, with SSL on.)
