Software not installing after limewire stopped working

I have been using limewire for years and all of a sudden when I click on the icon it bounces and then settles without opening. After trying everything including deleting it and re installing I still get the same result. I therefore decided to try a new p2p program and went for frostwire. I have the same thing with this, I've followed instructions from a you tube post so I definitely everything right. It bounces and then stops and does nothing, I have selected keep in dock otherwise it disappears again! Help please
