Icon & Noise when pressing CMD, OPTION, CONTROL or SHIFT

I need some help. Every time I press the command, option, control or shift key. An icon pops up on screen while making a noise that sounds similar to a typewriter. I am not able to do my graphic design work with these buttons. The buttons are working, just really weirdly.

Also when you press one of the keys on its own it hold it down like caps lock, command lock? control lock?

Please help me!!!
