Could not unmount disk (-10000)

Hello all.

Just a quick one...
Just tried to verify/repair my External LACIE using Disk Utility, and found that I get this error...

-------------------
Repairing disk for “LACIE HD”
Repair attempted on 1 volume
0 HFS volumes repaired
1 volume could not be repaired

Repairing disk failed with error Could not unmount disk (-10000)
-------------------

Any ideas why this would happen? I have used Disk Utility before to Verify my External Drive...?! Any help would be much appreciated.

Kind Regards.
Jamesy!

Hello! I've seen this a lot and there is a solution for the most part. When it gives you that error go ahead and click again on the repair button and see if it works then. I've watched this over and over and what happens a lot is if you'll watch the hd icon on the desktop as you get the message saying it can't unmount the drive it also goes ahead at that point and unmounts it. Then when you attempt to do it the second times it's unmounted and it goes ahead with the operation. Tom
