Does Apple TV record?

Does Apple TV record or pre-record televised information? For example, a television show or movie on the television it is wi-fied to?
I am looking
to purchase Apple TV and would appreciate to know if I can keep my hubby happy by buying a product that will record his boxing shows that screen in the wee hours of the morning.

no. TV is an extension of your iTunes library.

however, you could use something like this on your Mac and send the recorded (and converted) tv shows etc. to your TV.
