restore safari bookmarks to default?

Hi

I am new to Mac and just recently purchased a Macbook Pro 13 inch. I synced my iPhone to safari's bookmarks and didn't want it. So I have two questions.

-How can I restore my default bookmarks on Safari? The bookmarks that are shown in the bookmarks bar when you first launch Safari for the first time with (google maps, youtube, news..etc)

-How can I remove the bookmarks folder and menu in iPhone's safari?

Thanks!

Mac OS X (10.6.2), iPhone 3Gs 16GB, 5th Gen 80GB iPod

Hi

can't help you with an iphone, sorry - but Safari on a mac computer always used to recreate the default bookmarks if you quit Safari, then trash the file Home/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist

I haven't checked this on Safari 4 yet, but likely it'll work.

Hi

here's all I could speedily find about bookmarks on an iphone.

I don't know if that will prove impractical, but I can't find anything else, short of a restore although I don't doubt it'd be possible to
backup the phone & then edit/modify the bookmarks within the file in ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/ on the computer. Likely not Apple sanctioned though eh.
