Mail to Multiple Recipients

Dear Wise Forum Users

I'm having problems sending mail to a group set up in Address Book, using Apple Mail.
The group is 137 people.
The message is simple and small.

The returned message informs me that the message cannot be sent and to select another outgoing mail server. I have tried sending a test message to one recipient and the server is working.

Can anyone tell me if this is an issue with Mail or if it is something to do with my ISP - restricted recipients?

I would suggest you contact your ISP and ask them. Many email service providers limit the number of recipients for any given email as a prevention against spam. I'm not aware of any limit coded into Mail, though I can't say it couldn't be a bug.

Will,

I send to larger groups than yours, but only some SMTP will permit. Neither the SMTP for Gmail, nor that of my hosted domain accounts will permit the group, but the one provided by my ISP will. Dave is correct that it is not any limit in Mail itself.
