Beginning today, my Yahoo mail account on my iPhone stopped working, indicating that my password wasn't entered. I went to the Mail settings and entered it, but I get an "authentication failed" error.

I know my account is valid, since I can access it from a web browser.

I removed my Yahoo mail account from my iPhone and added it back, but I have the same errors.

Is this an iPhone issue, or a Yahoo issue?

If no change after deleting and recreating the account making sure the correct password is entered, more than likely this is a Yahoo problem at the incoming mail server. Logging in to an account via webmail access using a browser is different from checking an account with an email client. The latter requires communicating with the incoming mail server for the account and the former doesn't.

If you are also accessing the account with an email client on your computer such as with the Mail.app, any problems there?

The password has been entered correctly.

I don't use a mail app client on my Mac to access my Yahoo mail. I just use the web browser.

Just happened to my iphone too (today). It's the first time for me, but searches indicate it is an ongoing problem. Still haven't found a "reason" or a solution.
