New iTunes store interface is awful -- any way to get the old one back???
I cannot put this more strongly -- I absolutely detest the new iTunes store interface that came with the last update. This is not just an aesthetic problem, it is an incredible time-waster. When I do any kind of search, the song list is appears in a tiny window with only about 10 songs showing -- then, because of the related graphics (I assume), it is nearly nearly impossible to scroll (and doesn't even have scroll arrows!) Each new page also takes forever to load. The page looks very nice -- but a pretty page is NOT what I go to the iTunes store for! This is only a problem on my Mac -- the PC I use at school still has the same old look to the store search interface, with a few boxes at the top and then a nice, long (and easily-scrollable) song list -- even though I have recently had the latest update on the PC as well.
I know there's probably nothing I can do about this, maybe I'm just hoping someone at iTunes engineering will see this and do something about it... (is there anywhere real to complain to?)

You're unlikely to hear from Apple itself in this forum. It's almost exclusively populated by other Mac users like yourself.
You could always try downgrading iTunes, but there could be hardware complications as well as issues with the library. Me, I never found reason to upgrade beyond 7.5. 🙂

could be, but some users did so successfully:
to
downgrade to a previous iTunes version, you could try this user tip that seemed to have worked for some:
+1) Quit iTunes.+
+2) Delete iTunes from your Applications folder.+
+3) Go to your ~/Music/iTunes folder. Delete or rename the "iTunes Library" file.+
+4) Open the "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder and look for the backup of your old pre-9 library; it should be dated at about the time you first ran iTunes 9. Copy it back out to the ~/Music/iTunes folder, and rename it to "iTunes Library".+
+6)
click here to download iTunes 8.2.1. The page says it's for G3, but the Read Me file says it'll run on G4, G5, and Intel too. Open the disk image and run the installer.+
+You should now be able to run iTunes 8.2.1 again.+
+And your iTunes will restore to before you upgraded and you won't lose anything+.
Limnos, you're right -- I should never have gone for the upgrade in the first place (they generally scare me into going for it by saying things like "fixes certain bugs" or improves security"...)
