Fedex deliver to wrong address?

I ordered my ipod on Nov. 6, it was shipped on the 7th from China and according to Fedex, it arrived on the 9th of Nov. I have someone from my family stayed home all week for the package and nothing came. I called Fedex, they claimed that they have it ship to the right address. The person who signed it was not from my house. Fedex sent the driver back to that address and claim that the house and the person that received the package were correct. They said the address was correct like the one I told them. However, I waited home all day and no fedex driver came.
So I called Apple, told them to file a claim. They said they will call me back every 3 days to inform me of the news. I have faith with apple so I waited and waited but they never called. I call back today which is the 5th day, and they said they're working on it. They also claim that they have the right address and everything. But of course, they read the address right from the order page, who knows if that's the address they printed and posted on the actual box.
Anyway, is anyone here ever have that problem? How long does apple takes before refund my money or replace my ipod? The unfortunate thing is it's not even my ipod. I ordered for a friend and we are frustrated at the moment.
