Apologies for the above - full question here:
Hi
have been operating a home network successfully with MBA, Time Capsule, Brother printer and 2 iPhones all connected wirelessly. However, yesterday, I had to unplug and move everything to position a new desk in my home office. On restarting, everything apart from my MBA is working perfectly with regards the network/internet.
Initially, in Network Preferences, Airport had a green light and stated ON, but with the message 'AirPort has a self-assigned IP address and may not be able to connect to the internet'. I checked this out on the forum questions, tried a few suggested ideas and now Airport has a red light and states 'AirPort does not have an IP address and cannot connect to the Internet'.
Everything else looks fine, my printer is picking up the wireless network the Time Capsule is showing a green connected light on the unit and both iPhones are operating on the network.
The AirPort menu bar status is displaying as connected to the correct secure network but I can't seem to move forward from here to connect to the internet.
The other odd thing I noticed this morning is that in Finder under 'Shared' (where usually I can see the TC etc) it's showing a MacBookAir (almost as if it's detecting itself???)
Any suggestions would be gratefully received - please bear in mind I'm not hugely technically minded so layman's terms would be preferred!
With thanks in advance.
