Cannot Send Mail smtp.live.com failed

I have a 3rd generation iTouch with three mail accounts. The one I'm having issues with is my Hotmail. When I try to send an e-mail, I get a message saying "Cannot Send Mail" With the details, "The connection to the outgoing mail server 'smtp.live.com' failed. Additional Outgoing Mail Servers can be configured in Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars."
I've tried setting up new servers, changing the port, deleting the account and making it again, checking the authentifcation, and even re-entering all of the data. However, nothing seems to work, and whenever I open my mail, it pops up witht the same message and tries to send without success.
If anyone has any idea how to cure my iTouch, it would be greatly appreciated.
