Clean up a Mac Pro

Now just supposing one wished to clean up a Mac Pro running OS 10.6.2 what would be the best or better way to do so?

Perhaps there are some stuffs in OS X or maybe a third party utility?

Ideally to get rid of gunk left by trial apps, demo apps, used and uninstalled (correctly or incorrectly) apps.

Ta muchly inadvancio

Mac Pro, MacBook Pro, iPhone, iPod (60 Gig), Time Capsule, Mac OS X (10.5.7), XP Pro running due to VM Fusion, Vista due to Boot Camp, Dell Studio 17"
