download location for attachments in gmail

Dear fellow Mac users (I'm new to Mac so sorry if my question seems a little basic)

When I download attachments from gmail (in Safari) I would like to decide where the file will be saved on a file by file basis (and not have one allocated destination for all downloads (currently the 'download' folder. Any suggestions as to how one might do that? As things stand I have to download the file and then go into the download folder, copy it and the paste it in the folder that I actually want that particular file.

I hope that my question is clear.

Best wishes,

Greg

HI Greg and Welcome to Apple Discussions...

To my knowledge there Safari can only download to one specific folder you select in Safari/Preferences/General.

A work around... from the Safari Menu Bar click Window/Downloads

Right or control click any file you've downloaded then click: Show In Finder

You can the move files anywhere you want. I don't think copy/paste will work.
