SmoothCam Doubling the Speed of my Clips

So I'm not sure what I'm doing, I have tried it with several clips now and I always run into the same problem.

When I apply smoothcam to a video clip in Final Cut, it looks ok, but when I render the file the video suddenly becomes half as long and twice the speed. The second half of the file is left as a black section.

The audio remains the same.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

I am using final cut Pro 7.0.1

This is from the Quicktime info pane:
Format: 16-bit Integer (Little Endian), Stereo (L R), 44.100 kHz
H.264, 960 x 540, Millions
FPS: 30.02
Data Rate: 6167.74 kbits/s

The video clip I was using was in H.264. I tried converting it to Apple Intermediate Codec, and it worked fine. Is there something wrong with H.264 codec and SmoothCam?

Thanks
