Epson Chip Reset - Waste Ink Full - CX4600

OK, so apparently the Epson printers have a chip that counts and eventually tells you "go buy a new epson printer." Apparently also there is a utility or piece of software that resets this chip. I have seen it for PC, but alas I run Snow Leopard. Searched around, but I have not found any links or promising leads. I mopped up the waste ink tray as described in one post, but need to find and run this "reset." Does anyone have any idea what this is or where I can find it. The Epson web site is, to my mind, mind-bogglingly useless. Thanks, Andy.
