I personally am. Yes, I've spent a bunch of money on nano tubes, and countless screen protectors that weren't invisible at all, and taking them off caused me to scratch the screen. But, I finally have a decent screen protector and a nano tube, and with the lanyard headphones the nano works great. I am very satisfied with the nano despite having to cover it up with an ugly tube. This is also my first iPod and hopefully the next one I buy won't be so scratchy, but for now I am very pleased.
20" iMac G5 2nd Gen,
Mac OS X (10.4.2),
4GB Black iPod Nano
Upon receiving my iPod nano several people asked me if I had any problems with it because they knew of many people who were having to take theirs back; due to a screen problem. I have had mine for a little more than 1 month and today i encountered this same problem upon turning it on. Half of the screen was totally nonexistant, however, the music still played with the same quality. I now haveto take it back and get a new one due to this.
I am not pleased with my Apple product, the lack of care with the help line and phone technicians, or their ability to look another way at a greater developing problem.
I really liked it. Unfortunatly it passed away at two weeks old and is now going back to Apple as the screen has turned into four white squares with black lines everywhere.
After 2 months, yes and no. With the nano, an overwhelming yes. The side effects after owning one (in other words, accessories, and then some), no.
Side effects include: AC charger, FM transmitter, dock, iPod auto interface, ITMS downloads, etc and etc. I've $pent way more than the cost of my nano.
Love mine, My wife does also. We have them in cases, they are great, almost a month with them and no problems. I do wish I had bought the 4 gig... famous last words, I will never have a thousand songs or use 4 gig.... sheesh... but other then that. We are out here in the sticks in Mexico with dust, dirt salt from the ocean, and very hot weather. about 8 hours of bat life (surf and use the backlight and show a lot of photos). and not had one problem.
Yes it is very good. I can finally brag to my friends when they show off their massive ipod minis. I have spent lots of money on the nano (on cases+screen protectors) but it was well worth it.
Also my friend is very satisfied with his new nano. After getting the replacement nano for the moisture in his screen, apple gave him $140 to the apple store.
Love my nano, but like another forum dweller pointed out, I also have more money in accessories than in the iPod nano. Tried several cases until I found one I liked (iSkin + Martin Fields Overlay Plus)... got a couple docs (one for the office, the other in my home office) and extra USB to dock connector cables.... Better ear buds that stay in my ears fine.
Of course, with all that money I parted with, this is the flash based player I was waiting for someone (Apple) to come out with... 4GB is enough for now, but I imagine I will need double that in a year or so...
I had to send my new iPod nano in for repair 6 weeks ago (accu problem). Since then, I called their hotline twice to find out when I will get it back.
It was really great service when they sent over the ups-guy to pick up the defect nano. But right now I am very frustrated with apple support. Still waiting. No information.
yes completely. i got mine on october 27 and am using it everyday. i got overlay plus twin pack covers which are simply perfect (people basically don't believe me i have any cover on!) and i'm waiting for my nano tubes which i ordered over apple website here. i want tubes just to add some color to nano. i also got to say i was affraid about scratches and lcd failure, but so far mine is as fresh looking as from the box. btw, while i was waiting for the overlay plus covers i carried mine in a soft case for glasses. this is my second ipod, first one was shuffle, and i will definitely buy new flash memory based ipods in future! great stuff! also, great service from croatian apple web site and their office. not advertizing anyone... 🙂
enjoy music everyone!
