Java 1.6?

Hi,
I realise that I have posted many problems over the past week, but hopefully this will be the last one.
A couple of programs that I want to use require Java 1.6, but unfortunately I appear to only have 1.4. So I downloaded what I thought was the right Java (I think it was called Java for Mac OS X Tiger, Release 9), but when I tried installing it it said I needed all the previous releases. Could someone point me to these, or to a combo update? Thanks in advance. 🙂

There are several items, and trying to find evidence of them once
installed should be easy. For some reason, the only place I can
see evidence of them in any order is in the Receipts folder in the
Tiger 10.4.11 Library folder.

And there are some not necessarily in line with the Java sequence
so the others may also be related java items. Here is a list of items
as I've found them; the first two are not consecutive with the others.
Perhaps due to the time-line of their installation in my computer(?)

J2SE50Release4.pkg
J2SE50Release3.pkg

JavaForMacOSX10.4Release9.pkg
JavaForMacOSX10.4Release8.pkg
JavaForMacOSX10.4Release7.pkg
JavaForMacOSX10.4Release6.pkg
JavaForMacOSX10.4Release5.pkg
Java131and142Release2.pkg
Java.pkg

And then, included in these are some of the security updates.
A search using Find brings up locations of plugin bits & etc.

{A place to see what remains in an active location appears to be in
the Hard Drive> Applications Folder> Utilities Folder> Java Folder.
But not as full of a list of evidence, as the Receipts, once installed.}

Perhaps you can get the .dmg or other files via another computer
online; and be sure they aren't changed somehow if you end up
using a PC or windows-beast. And save to a USB flash drive.

For easier reinstall, I have most of my update bits saved to CD
and have bootable clones of my computers on FireWire external.

Good luck & happy computing! 🙂
