Myspace Music

My friend has a myspace page with his music on it and when I try to listen to his playlists my computer does nothing. I do not have a myspace account but his profile is not private so that should not matter. Any ideas how to fix this?? Its driving me nuts. My friends Mac plays it just fine but not mine.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

HI,

Make sure your sound is turned on. Open System Preferences/Sound and click the Ouput tab.

Make sure the Mute button is not selected.

Also, try the volume keys I think on a MacBook are F4 and F5.

My sound is turned on. I think the issue is with my plug-ins or something.

Go back to the MySpace page and make sure the audio is turned up there.

If you 3rd party plugins... try disabling them.

How do I disable 3rd party plug ins?? I'm kind of dumb when it comes to that stuff.

Check the vendor site that you downloaded them from. There should be instructions there.

Can you post the link to the MySpace page pls?

That is the link. I can get on the page and click on playlist to pull up the songs but then when I click the play button nothing happens.

Ok...

Works for me..

This site streams content using the Flash Player plugin. You may have an outdated copy so uninstall then reinstall a fresh plugin.

Uninstall Flash

Install Flash

Then Repair Disk Permissions

Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

Did that and it still won't play. I have no idea what the problem is. I have 10.4 OS X what do you have? Maybe it has to do with newer OS X having more plug ins than mine?

I can play this on 10.4 as well as 10.6

No difference in the plugins.. I checked.

You might check with your ISP...
