So, I installed 10.6.3 using software update and was experiencing mouse freezing problems along with keyboard glitches (letters not typing, freezing). It seemed like it was mostly happening in Safari, but then I tried Chrome and the same problem.

Decided to reinstall using the combo update... same problem.

Anybody else having this problem. It's pretty intermittent. I managed to get through this post with no problems, and the mouse is still working.

The only way I get the mouse to move again is to shut the laptop, let it go to sleep, and then upon opening it up again, the mouse is functional. But, it's definitely happening only since 10.6.3.

I, too, am having problems with intermittent mouse freezes upon installation of 10.6.3. The system still accepts keyboard input (albeit slowly) when the mouse is frozen. The mouse unfreezes after a while (on the order of 30 seconds). The freezing/unfreezing behavior seems to be uncorrelated with my actions. To date, I have had freezing while using Igor Pro, MS Word and Safari, so the problem is not confined to one application.

This is definitely a result of the 10.6.3 install.

I am also having similar problems. The Apple USB Keyboard isn't recognized but the Logitech wireless mouse is. Then if I try to open a finder window I get an error message:
The application Finder.app can't be opened.

I have rebooted several times since I updated to 10.6.3 this morning with the same result each time. I had never seen the error before the update.
The Mac Pro is basically unusable without a keyboard or Finder so I hope there is a fix soon... Help!

I'm experiencing the same issues: Randomly freezing mouse after updating to 10.6.3 and keyboard anomalies (sticking keys, no response)

I've checked the Console but found no suspicious messages. The hidd process does seem to heat up when moving the mouse.

I have no external USB devices attached.

I am having the same problem with the mouse freezing. This is not occur until I updated Mac OS 10.6.3.

It does not seem to be a very predictable issue and I just started noticing it. It seems like it might happen more often when I switch to the dashboard.

I am having problems, not with freezing but with tapping. When I tap the Trackpad (Not press so it clicks, just a single tap) it sometimes shows up as a right click, or a tap with 2 fingers. I noticed it after the update, but have not seen anyone else with this problem.

Same thing happening here. Locks up about every 5-10 minutes. Tried to reset PRAM and SMC to no avail.

Found a story on Macrumors where it's happening too: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=9529904

This just happened to me earlier. Keyboard problems galore. Half the keys wouldn't work. The mouse responded, but the cursor disappeared. Happened in WoW.

Same thing happening here. Mouse and keyboard freeze up for about 15-30 seconds. Nothing out of the ordinary in console or activity monitor.

I guess that's what I get for not waiting to install the update.

    Hi,

I am getting some of the same. Since the 10.6.3 upgrade, the magic mouse looses connection constantly and the bluetooth wakeup of the system no longer works.

Everything was working fine until the 10.6.3build 10D573 upgrade.

+I ran "repair disk permissions" from Disk Utility. Everything looks to be all good now.+

*I spoke too soon. Still having the same issues.*

My Comfort Ergonomic Keyboard is no longer recognized, but my Apple keyboard is. Installed USB Overdrive and the Comfort keyboard does not even appear in the usb list. It works fine on non os 10.6.3 system. I need to kick myself for installing a new os update so soon.
