How do I solve Photo upload image corruption ?

Hi. I have a major problem trying to create a Photobook which is driving me nuts !. I have tried Snapfish, Photobox and Apple to create a book from a selection of good quality jepgs stored in my iPhoto Library but the images somehow always get corrupted during the upload. I'm using iPhoto 7.1.5. and have at least 2GB of RAM. I'd would be eternally grateful if someone could help me out.

iBook, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

Using Snapfish as an example : having selected the photos I use the Snapfish plugin to upload images from iPhoto. The upload takes place - slowly - motoring through the individual jpegs and finishes. When I review the images, they are all corrupted - each one made up of blocks of the original but of varying colour/definition. I have a standard wirless AirPort connection through my router.

As a test, try export the pics from iPhoto (File -> Export) and make sure they are good. If they are then upload them to Snapfish. See if they are still good.

If they export from iPhoto okay, that's iPhoto off the hook. The they appear in Snapfish okay, then that's Snapfish off the hook, and I would then suspect the Snapfish plug-in.

I have a standard wirless AirPort connection through my router.

That describes the connection from your Mac to your router, but tells us nothing about your Internet connection. Dial Up? Broadband? Cable? What speed?

Hi. This is getting a bit techical for me but I'll do my best. The images are good quality jpegs. Colour mode and profile ?? Cld you kindly unpack this for me ? I haven't saved as a PDF - how do I do that ? And as for corruption, when I can review the finished upload as in Snapfis, each image made up of blocks of the original but of varying colour/definition. When using Apple's PhotoBook the file goes off and is happily received, followed shortly afterwards by an e-mail from Apple cancelling the order because of irregularities.

Thanks for getting back. My experience with Snapfish is that having done as you suggest,i.e. using File-Export, all is well. They export fine. When they appear in Snapfish they're corrupt. With PhotoBox, the upload seemed to go well and I did not get any error messages. The album eventually arrived. Totally corrupt - not one correct image. With Apple's PhotoBook, having uploaded file it's acknowledged and then as I've previously mentioned I get the dreaded e-mail cancelling the order. My internet connection is Broadband - current download speed 1.1 mb, upload 0.3 mb.

If you open one of the photos with Preview and type Command(⌘)+i you will get a window with the color mode and profile listed. The desired mode is RGB and profile sRGB or Camera RGB.

What do the photos look like in the pdf file that you get if you start to print the book yourself but use the PDF button and select the Save as PDF option?
