Ever sinc updating to iTunes 9.1, using the Column Browser (view-->column browser) causes iTunes to crash. Otherwise, all is fine. Anyone hae any ideas on how to fix this?
On 9.1 (running under OS X 10.6.3), iTunes frequently crashes when browsing the library in list mode with the column browser on top (and perhaps on the side, haven't tried that much). It crashes specifically when selecting a piece of content from the main list.
It doesn't happen when not in list mode.
I have tried recreating the library from a copy of the xml file. I have tried wiping out the entire iTunes folder and reimporting all content. Same results, continues to crash in list mode.
I am - in fact i installed it the other day for the first time and ran it ok with itunes for a couple of days then upgraded to 9.1 and crash crash crash.
any reason to suspect it has anything to do with the issue . not oneof the crash has been triggered by using cinch
I have the same issue. Disabling or closing Bettertouchtools and Jitouch for magic mouse solves the problem. The issue is cause by third party apps for the magic mouse. Try it and see if it solves your problem too. If you go back to itunes 9.0.3 you'll solve the problem too. But I want to have the latest iTunes update.
I have the same issue using 10.5.8, but I'm not using any of the other apps you guys list. I wonder if zooom is causing a problem, though, because it enables focus follows mouse. If I switch out of column view, it works fine.
Same problem here and I've been able make it work again once I shut Zooom down. There was a similar issue with Zooom in iTunes 9.01 but it only made you unable to scroll in the column browser. Now it completely crashes iTunes. Annoying.
This didn't start happening until the upgrade to iTunes 9.1(79) and Snow Leopard 10.6.3. iTunes is now totally unusable. Clicking anywhere on the iTunes window causes a beach ball and iTunes crash.
I do have Zooom2 installed, but iTunes crashes in the same manner whether Zooom2 is running or not.
I'm having this exact same problem. I rolled back to 9.0.3 - no problems. Reinstalled 9.1, got the same issue, again. I disable Cinch, and sure enough - no more crashes! Thanks to the poster for the recommendation on disabling Cinch.
I do use BetterTouchTool, but removing it and restarting the computer (yes, I did uncheck the box to start it up at login) did NOT help. Certainly seems like this is an interaction with other 3rd party software. I don't use Cinch. Anyone else found another offender?
