Sync Server Not Working Error

I have not had a problem with my new iPod Touch syncing since I bought it. Yesterday I downloaded the new recommended version of iTunes and now I can't seem to get my iPod to sync to iTunes. It keeps telling my that my SyncServer has stopped working. Don't know what that means or how to fix it.

Acer, Windows Vista

I am having the exact same problem with mine. It's brand new (3 days old) and everything was fine with Itunes 9.0. I updated my Itunes and sync server does not work any more. I tried reinstalling 9.0 and even that didn't work. I have spent a whole day systematically trying everything on their help section of the apple website and NOTHING has worked! Seeing as it's clearly a computer problem and I have a PC, I can't help but feel there is actually going to be no help on this one from Orange or Apple. What the **** do we do?

It seems as though there is a file under one of two folders found in your C: Drive > Windows > (either of these) System32 or SysWOW64 > sqlite3.dll file This file must be moved to your desktop out of one of these folders. Then try to sync your device (Ipod, Ipad, or Iphone) to your Microsoft Windows 7 computer. It seems to work very well. Good Luck!

I called Orange and they even have an automated message for iPhone users experiencing problems, saying, "We are aware that some users have been experiencing problems downloading content from Itunes and from the app store. We are working towards getting this fixed as soon as possible. If your query is about something else, please continue to hold....." Or words to that effect.
I actally have spent about a day doing EVERYTHING apple.com suggested. I have Vista (initially I thought it was probably just Vista having yet another issue) but it is reassuring (and even more crap) to see windows 7 people are having the same problem.
I am going to try and completely uninstall everything again, cleanly, and then put a previous version of Itunes on. And see what that does. This is literally a last-ditch attempt! I cannot believe apple have let this happen and not communicated with us about it at all! It seems to have been going on for 5 days now. GRRRRRRRRR!
