How do you delete photos from iPod through iTunes

iTunes 9.0.3. In the photos tab of the iPod (in iTunes) there's a checkbox to sync from iPhoto. .....and that's it.

I don't want to sync anything, but I know there are 700mgs of photos on the iPod. I just want to delete them. How do I just delete what's there. I think they should have photos listed in some way - like Music - so you can see what's there. Instead it's trying to be so fancy that a simple task is a complete mystery...

Thx...

If you uncheck the synch photos then they should all be removed at the next synch.

My set up is to synch specific folders which I select from the list in the main photos folder. If I want to delete a folder I untick it and next synch it is removed - so have a look further into what is ticked in your photos folders. I use manual synch so maybe you need to change to that temporarily to get them removed.

um, yeah.... I want to delete the photos.

um, yeah... I know, which is why I explained how to do it.
Checking sync presents album and resolution options, and then "apply" which presumably effects the action.

Why would you check Sync if you do not want them on the iPod
Uncheck Sync and it will remove (unsync) the photos from our iPod when you sync it.

This is just stupid. All I want to do is delete photos from my ipod. "Uncheck Sync and it will remove (unsync) the photos from our iPod when you sync it." That is a paradox. I don't want to sync, unsync, or link iphoto in any way. Why can't I just delete photos? This is obviously another Apple overthought, holier-than-thou invention, so I think I'll just leave it.

The point is that what ever you tell iTunes to 'sync' will be synced - anything else will be removed as in 'deleted' from the iPod. Do what has been suggested and see what the results are before getting upset over the issue. After all they are just photos.

If you don't want iTunes to have access to the photos then delete them from iPhoto.

While there is no way to directly tell iTunes to delete the photos from your iPod, all you have to do is "sync" once with "nothing", and then turn off syncing. Since it looks like you're not on your "home" photo library, just enable photo syncing with iPhoto, but then choose the "Selected" radio button instead of the "All" radio button, and don't check any boxes in the Albums, Events, or Faces lists. Then sync, iTunes will ask if you want to remove your existing photos from your device, and say OK. Now your device has no photos, because all the old photos were deleted, and no new photos were copied, because nothing was checked. Now, you can turn off photo syncing (uncheck the top checkbox to not sync from iPhoto anymore).

I just bought an Ipod Touch 32g and am having the same problem. Can't find anything in the online manual about deleting photos. When I first plugged it in, ITunes "synced" and imported every **** photo on my computer.

You people keep saying "sync" an individual photo and then do this or that. I can find no button on my Ipod to sync anything.

Surely there must be a simple way to delete individual photos when they appear on the screen, just like you can delete videos.

Is this just some design flaw or what???

Lawrence.

No one has posted that because that is not how to do it.

No. You cannot view photos with iTunes or delete photos with iTunes.
You can only select which folders of photos you want to sync.

You can delete them from the folder you have chosen to sync.
Select the iPod in iTunes.
Click on the Photos tab across the top.
Look at which folders are selected to sync.
Then go to those folders in Windows Explorer and delete the photos you do not want.

Okay, I want to ADD photos to my ipod. I made a folder on my desktop that has the photos that I want to add. When I go to the photos tab, and click on sync photos, and choose: choose folder, I choose the one I made and then it tells me that all the photos on my ipod will be REPLACED with the folder I chose. I DO NOT want to REPLACE, I want to ADD. I cannot find an answer anywhere to help with my problem!!! can someone PLEASE help me, I am desperate. thank you.
