MobileSync has stopped working

When I try and sync, I get 2 error messages in separate windows:

"MobileSync has stopped working" and "Yahoo go sync client has stopped working".

I have reinstalled itunes, but still get the error.

I know my calendar no longer syncs, but have not yet discovered if anything else still syncs.

I am running Vista Pro.

I have followed the instructions on the Apple site to remove ALL apple software from the computer, and to reinstall iTunes.

I still have the same problem. My ipod Touch is now a useless piece of equipment, since I can no longer carry my contacts and diary with me, and have had to go back to my iPaq since I am not prepared to wait a couple of months for Apple to fix this bug (and introduce a few more) with an untested version of iTunes.

This is a last resort at getting the problem solved before I abondon any plans of upgrading to an iPhone.

This is a feckin joke and typical of the arrogance of Apple !! I was requested (by Apple) to update my itunes to latest version and, hey presto, they screww up my synchronizations !! No doubt noone at Apple will take responsibility and it will be left to the poor sod users to spend hours trying to fix their mess !!

I now have this same problem. Just upgraded to the latest version of iTunes (9.10.79) while trying to solve Wi Fi dropout problems with my touch. Have managed to fix the WiFi dropout but now I keep getting the same mobile sync not working windows box preventing me from syncing contacts, calendar etc. This was not a problem before I upgraded iTunes.

If anyone knows a fix please help.

I just spoke to a support technician. He had me look for the existence of two files (can't remember the name), that I don't have. He also had me download the Mobile Me control panel, even though I don't use Mobile Me, hoping it would give me the file name that was having a problem. But, I got no errors, so no need in doing that step. We did determine that the problem is definitely related to syncing to my Outlook Calendar. If I uncheck the box to Sync Calendars with Outlook and click Apply, the next time the sync runs, there are no errors. If I go back and check the box to Sync Calendars with Outlook, I immediately get the MobileSync has stopped working error. I don't sync my Contacts, so I can't say whether the same thing would happen with that or not. But, at least they know where to concentrate their efforts and I can verify that they are working on it.

Hi,

What security software is running on the PC?

If you haven't already, try to update, reconfigure, or uninstall the security software and test again. This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3125 provides additional tips that will resolve most security software conflicts.

This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3960 describes the processes that install with iTunes. Many of them require access to the Internet, so that they can function correctly.

Exact same issue here. I was on the phone with support for about an hour and a half. Got escalated. No luck. I tried turning off the firewall and anti-virus, updating the security software, uninstalling and reinstalling, deleting the SyncServices folder, restarting a couple times, etc.

The error messages went away when I tried syncing to another, newly-created dummy account. That indicates it isn't a "global problem", but I still get the error messages in my main account and can't sync my contacts or calendar.

I'm told the engineers are working on it.

Add me to the list. Same exact problem "mobilesync has stopped working" and then "yahoo go sync client has stopped working." I rely on this calendar extensively and never had such problems with my old Palm devices (from the Palm iii to my last Phone (a Palm Centro))

I trust Apple techs are working round the clock to get this problem they created with this update because my iPhone is nearly useless to me without the synchronized calendar.

It looks like have a similar issue. I just now updated to the latest version of iTunes + QuickTime. When I start my machine, I get a Visual C++ Runtime error but it doesn't show the program. In the Control Panel, when I click on MobileMe, I get the same error message:

"Runtime Error! R6034. An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly. Please contact the application's support team for more information." When I click "OK" I get the following notification:

"AppleSyncPref.exe - Application Error. The exception unknown software exception (0xc06d007e) occurred in the application at location 0x7c812afb."

I was asked to reboot my computer after installing iTunes 9.1; when that happened, the error box froze my machine and I had to do a hard restart. I still get the runtime error message everytime I boot, but the screen is not frozen on subsequent reboots.

Help!
